my poem for poetry out loud

My poem is called old men playing basketball by B.H. Fairchild and I'm not going to lie I don't really have a special connection with it. I read it because of the name and I picked it because it seems the least cheesy of all the poems on that site. As for my performance I just plan to read it as I believe the writer would have liked it to be read, which is pronunciate clearly and put emphasis on key words and add a sprinkling of humor, I think i can convince the judge that not only do I understand it but that I genuinely love it.

lobsters discussion

I was sitting at my computer thinking and then i realized that i really didn't have anything to write about for this blog i didnt find any of the topics discussed particularly interesting. Most were just statements that had already been said or just plain off the topic and not very cleverly thought out, and having said so i wrap up this short but not sweet blog.

paragraph correcting

       To write a good paper you definitely need to be able to have a good vocabulary because plenty of paragraphs and essays are butchered by boring word choice and common points being made. One of the most common defects of the paragraphs has been quote embedding, people should learn to look for commas and other such punctuation in order to have a nice paragraph.
        Personally i need to work on using the format and not wandering to different ways of doing the essay, but i wish that formats would be more leniant on you and let you work your paragraphs in your own way. Such as just requiring a quote in a set of CDs and COs and not telling you to put it at the beginning but i don't know maybe i just don't like following the rules laid out for me.

something happened to me this week

    This week i was hangin' with my homies and my brain is always coming up with ideas and stuff you know because i'm so funny and stuff. And i got this good idea that turned out not so great, i thought that we could slap a couple of cardboard slabs and wheels to the bottom of sleds and go sledding in the fall. Well my homies you know they love me so they agreed and so we all went to my garage where we put some wheels and cardboard on some sleds and went down a hill right next to my house, This hill is big i mean its HUGE its like uuh some kind of big sea dude. 

    Right before we went down we had some lemonade, another one of my smart ideas, and after that we went down. Everything was going great until halfway down when a tree appeared and rushed up to meet me, with a hard branch made specially for me, with a loud crunch i quickly brought the sled up to break the hit i got scraped up pretty bad from the ground and the sled but i turned out unhurt thankfully. My friends decided not to try it after me because you know we aren't dumb...
